Part 1 - The Interface
Part 1: THE MAYA USER INTERFACE (UI)
Working with Maya Projects
Over the course of creating and building onto a Project in Maya, many files are created. Maya Projects help by setting up a small network of folders to store all of your files in.
Working with Maya’s View Panels
They are the portal through which you see your creations. Here we learn to control them and discover all that they can reveal.
Identifying the Different Elements of the UI and what they are used for
We will look at UI elements such as:
- Menu Sets
- The Status Line
- The Tool Bar
- The Channel/Layer Box
- The Attribute Editor
- The Time and Range Sliders
- The Outliner
I have provided a copy of Maya’s UI reference sheet and Keyboard Short-cuts for you to print out and bring with you to the workshop. Click here to go back and download those sheets.
Controlling what is displayed in the UI
Customizing your workspace will help you cut through the clutter of unnecessary UI elements in Maya.
