Here&#039;s what I was planning to do:
Parenting the visor group (containing the visor and the grip knob - not shown) to the helmet
For rigging the opening/closing of the visor, I am going to offset the local rotation axis for the visor group so that it rotates along the outer surface of the helmet along the X axis.  I&#039;ll lock-off the Y and Z and limit X&#039;s angle of rotation to line up with the length of the slot in the visor cover.
For animation controls, I&#039;ll make a slider manipulator that is positioned above or beside the helmet.
I&#039;ll probably use joints for the chin strap and maybe even the ear-pieces to give them the ability to flex a bit.
I&#039;ll put something together for a basic rig and post here for all to see (and comment - hopefully).</description>
